Shelley Dumais, BSc (P.T.), BSc (Econ)
Shelley is the owner of Active Balance Physiotherapy Studio. Shelley is a Physiotherapy graduate from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She graduated with a first class average and received many scholarships for outstanding academic achievement. Shelley completed her Intermediate Manual Therapy Exams with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 1999. Throughout her career she has taken numerous post-graduate courses in orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy, sport massage, Stecco Fascial Manipulation ©, Thoracic Ring Approach™, and most recently the Discover Physiotherapy Series which is a course designed to develop clinical reasoning skills, integrate systems, and connect hands-on treatment with exercise and home function.
In 2010, Shelley participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer from Vancouver to Seattle. She coached and trained a team of new riders who together raised over $83,000 benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation.
With Shelley's strong educational background and personal experience with fitness, sport, outdoor recreation, and endurance running and cycling she will be able to provide the thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise prescription, and the motivational coaching required for your comprehensive physiotherapy treatment.
