Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points, effective in the treatment of various health problems. This traditional Chinese medicine technique helps to increase blood flow to areas of the body, relieve stress, and boost immunity. The theory of acupuncture is based on the energy called Qi – the circulation of nutrients in the body through a network of channels or “meridians.” Pain and ill-health are a result of disrupted Qi, and acupuncture stimulation points are designed to restore sufficient Qi throughout the body. The goal is not only to eliminate symptoms but to treat the underlying cause and in turn improve quality of life. Your session may include one or more of the following:

  • Needling
  • Lifestyle advice
  • Ear seeds
  • Cupping
  • Gua Sha & jade rolling

Your practitioner will work with you to establish an individualized treatment plan tailored to your personal goals. Based on traditional Chinese medicine, specific acupuncture points will be chosen which reflect the holistic observation of your imbalances. Our popular “Acuflow” treatment is a unique combination of massage with traditional acupuncture. These two Eastern medicine techniques complement each other to optimize blood flow and restoration of Qi.

This traditional Chinese medicine technique uses fine needles to stimulate motor points to release tight muscles. Motor points are the entry sites of motor nerves into the muscle. Motor Point Acupuncture is useful for treating sports injuries, chronic tight muscles, musculoskeletal pain, and injury prevention.

Cupping is a modality of traditional Chinese medicine which involves placing special cups against the skin to create a suction for up to 10-15 minutes. The force of the suction expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels under the skin. Our bodies treat this like an injury and send fresh blood and nutrients to the area via a natural healing process. Cupping can be effective in improving pain, inflammation, and blood flow.

Cosmetic acupuncture and jade rolling help to reduce acne, scarring, fine lines, and puffiness, while improving overall skin texture and complexion. If you’re looking for a powerful anti-aging treatment with minimal side effects and no surgical interventions, facial acupuncture may be the perfect solution for you! Your practitioner will place micro-needles in your face and body to create micro-traumas. These punctures produce an immune response which brings fresh blood and collagen to the area that leaves your skin feeling plump and bright. Your session will end with a cooling jade rolling treatment. We recommend at least 4-6 treatments for long-lasting effects.
